Dr. Shi Yin
Board-Certified Periodontist & Implant Surgeon
Dr. Yin received her dental degree from Guangxi University Medical School in China and moved to the United States as a postdoctoral research fellow at Columbia University Medical Center. To strengthen her foundation, Dr. Yin obtained her Master of Science in Biotechnology at Georgetown University. Dr. Yin joined the Post-graduate Periodontics Program at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine for her specialty training. During all three years, she scored highest in her class in the national in-service examinations, placing her score within the Top 10. She graduated top of her class both academically and clinically. Through her residency, she became adept in periodontal therapy, laser-assisted periodontal and peri-implantitis therapy, soft tissue grafting procedures, and implant-related surgeries.
Dr. Shi Yin
After residency, Dr. Yin continued as a fellow in the Department of Implant Dentistry at Loma Linda University where she deepened her knowledge in prosthodontics, digital dentistry, full-mouth rehabilitation, and anterior implant esthetics. She accepted a full-time faculty position in the Department of Periodontics at Loma Linda, where she worked with postgraduate residents, teaching didactic courses and supervising surgical procedures. Dr. Yin has over 10 publications in the field of sinus augmentation and anterior immediate implant placement and provisionalization (IIPP). She has been invited to give lectures at esteemed conferences.
Dr. Yin is a board-certified periodontist and implant surgeon. She believes in preserving natural dentition as much as possible.
Dr. Yin is known to be considerate and friendly. She provides excellent quality care while ensuring that the patient is involved and comfortable throughout the treatment. Dr. Yin abides by her motto, “treat the person, not the patient.
Dr. Yin enjoys ballet and Pilates. She loves traveling to explore other parts of the world.
